These are simple yet profound life lessons I learned before I turned 28.

  1. Life is in the moments. It’s not in some far off future.
  2. Acceptance is key for peace. Learn how to differentiate what is in your control and what is outside of your control.
  3. Everyone is not going to be nice to you or understand you.
  4. Learn to let things go. Especially the bullshit.
  5. Family is more than what you’re born into.
  6. Positivity grounded in reality will always trump negativity.
  7. How you talk about yourself matters. Words are energy.
  8. Problems are meant to be solved. They are not meant to be worried about.
  9. Your parents are human-beings.
  10. What you pay attention to grows, so be wise where you put your focus.
  11. Blaming people isn’t going to get you anywhere. If anything it’ll hold you back in the past.
  12. You make mistakes too. You are not perfect. Stop acting like you are and save everyone the trouble.
  13. Your choices are what build your life. Learn how to go for what really matters instead of what is easy and fast.
