Being Present

Notice what takes you away from this moment.

“I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world. I run my world.”- Beyonce

On any given day I never know what is going to pop up in my head. I do know that I won’t pay attention to every thought. Focusing on what I want to grow in my life requires willpower, time, and dedication. It still is a practice that I work on strengthening daily. In most cases, I find that I am distracted from the present, as I am thinking about what has happened or worrying about what is going to happen.

It was life-changing to realize that anchoring myself in the past or future can leave me flailing because neither exists in the present. What exists is the present and that is the only place we are grounded. I hope today you commit to a practice that puts your wellness first and allows you to be present for these temporary moments we are given.

Additional Thoughts

  • Flow is letting go of each moment so you can be present for the next.
  • Anchoring myself in the past or future is impossible. I can only feel grounded in the present.
