Daily Actions
Our daily actions are either cementing a past version of ourselves or the version we are trying to be.
When we are trying to transition into a new version of ourselves by letting go of what no longer serves us, the core of this change is our intrinsic motivation. What is motivating you to get out of bed in the morning and get on that treadmill? What motivates you to sit down and finally start that business you said you were going to years ago? And I’m not talking about external motivation like money, fame, or all the pretty men.
No. I’m speaking to the desire to leave behind something positive and meaningful, the want to nourish your joy and peace, or the need to stay healthy and alive. Even though change starts with what drives us from within, action is the vehicle to get you there. You can’t wake up and want something and then not break it down into smaller steps for you to follow, so you can make it happen. This process can work for anything ranging from fitness to mindset.
This is what I try to remember when I am consciously making a change in my life:
Every day through my actions I am either cementing a past version of myself or reinventing a new version that is more compatible with me living a full and joyful life.
Try remembering that the next time temptation knocks on your door and tries to hold you back. You always have a choice and that choice is rooted in your actions. Who will you decide to be today?
