Don’t Take Life for Granted
Everything great started with deep appreciation.
Taking life for granted tends to prevent us from showing up as our best selves, and it shows in our body, mind, and spirit. Whenever you start your morning from a position of appreciation, everything follows a different tune, no matter what you encounter along the way. The opposite is true when there is no regard for life. We are less satisfied with the day as a whole and feel disconnected from it. We approach life in a certain way based on whether or not we feel connected to it, and whether we care about it. Here are 3 ways to stop taking life for granted:
- Start a gratitude practice in your life that focuses on the small things in your life. Regularly include yourself in that practice. This means show gratitude to yourself for making it through a hard day or helping someone out.
- Embody positive energy. Choose to pay attention to the good things about situations. I say this as someone whose favorite tools used to be cynicism and negativity. Do not underestimate the power of positivity.
- Put rituals in your life that prioritize you and are centered around love. By doing so, you are not only showing your commitment to your life, but also backing it up with action.
