Yesterday a raindrop fell from the blue sky
landed on the surface of my brown wrist
it sat there
cool and wet
reminding me gently to breathe.
Today I lifted my coffee
put it to my lips
and swallowed
the delicate flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, and almond
coating my tastebuds
reminding me gently to breathe.
Connected
deeply
to the ordinary things
that make my life extraordinary.
