Holding On

--

Photo sourced from Unsplash.

I’m holding on so tightly

my hands

clenching

unrelenting.

I tell myself

it has to be this way

nothing else will work.

Seasons change

trees lose their leaves

becoming bare.

Deep inside of me

I realize

letting go

might not be easy

but,

it’s welded

into the rhythm of life

inextricably tied.

So, I slowly

unlock my grip

each of my fingers

falling away

from what I thought

should be.

XO,

Laveet
