Stretching in Bed

This is why morning and evening stretches in bed have found their way into my life.

Nothing beats a good stretch. You know the one where your body releases an inaudible “ahhh” as if it has been refreshed after drinking a glass of cold water on a hot summer day. My first encounter with making stretching a part of my life was yoga. Prior to that, the only stretching I did was before and after working out, and I feel like that’s just not the same as taking the time too deeply stretch your entire body.

I loved yoga for more than how it physically benefited me. It also grounded my mind by allowing me to be present and connected me in a deeper way to my spirituality. I would travel to a yoga studio about twenty minutes away almost every day and pay a pricey membership to gain the benefits of the practice of Yoga. I kept this up for about two years before admitting to myself that this wasn’t working for my lifestyle. Thankfully, there has been a huge trend toward people sharing yoga on the internet and helping others practice right from their homes.

One of the more interesting trends that came out of this migration of yoga from exclusively being in studios to the internet was stretching in bed. This drew me in because I wanted to include yoga stretches in my life, but…
